Everyone’s getting ready for the blockbuster of the year… The Dark Knight. The reviews are great! The hype is enormous!! And the wait is almost over… just a few more days until The Darkness is released on us. Can you tell I’m excited? Anyway, thanks to Christopher Nolan, the Batman franchise is darker and better than ever. With Batman Begins grossing about $205 million domestically, The Dark Knight will surely smash that number. I’m saying a $170 million opening weekend sounds about right. That’ll surpass Spider-Man 3’s opening weekend record of $151 million and will put TDK on course to give Titanic’s record (about $600 million domestically) a run for its money. Did I make you as stoked as I am??? Well, even if you’re not a comic book fanatic, everyone can find a reason to go see The Dark Knight. Any serious movie-watcher would know that Christopher Nolan is one of our generation’s best movie makers, with incredible hits such as Memento and The Prestige. Also, with the January tragedy involving Heath Ledger, everyone should want to see his last complete role as the diabolical Joker (that’s receiving incredible Oscar buzz, and it’s just July!). I can’t help but to add TDK’s amazing ensemble cast of Christian Bale, Maggie Gyllenhaal (who replaced Katie Holmes), Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Aaron Eckhart, and Gary Oldman. Wow… just typing all of this in has made me even more pumped to see this film! Me and Mike will sure be back soon to give our opinions on The Dark Knight.
